Kindness Kangaroo Project

Is your Child a budding artist and between the ages of 5 to 8 years old?

Join us to have your child illustrate a book to be published for kids!

Dates: Saturday May 26th and Saturday June 9th, 2018 from 10:30-11:30am (your child must be available for both dates).

Dimple Arora, of Mindful Evolution and Jennifer Lynne Walker, of Counting Butterflies are partnering with authors Sandra Wilson and Brenda Geddes to bring the Kindness Kangaroo project to Milton!

Sandra and Brenda are working on a series of Emotional Animal books to
help children understand emotions and are looking for 10-15 children to assist in drawing the pictures for the book we have chosen to be published: Courageous Caterpillar!

The Kindness Kangaroo Project began when Sandra witnessed a small act of kindness that made a big difference to someone. At first it was just the book Kindness Kangaroo but then ideas emerged for Empathy Elephant, Hopeful Hippo and Bravo Bear. Before they knew it a whole alphabet of emotional animals arose.

May 26th: Sandra will come to Milton to discuss the emotion with your child and the rest of the group.

She will then record their ideas and Sandra and Brenda will create the story.

June 9th: Dimple and Jennifer will then present the story to the children so they can create the illustrations for each page.

Date TBD: Once the book has been published, Sandra will head back to Milton for a special presentation of the story and recognition of the illustrators. Each child will be gifted a book and a book will be donated to the local library.

While Mindful Evolution and Counting Butterflies are sponsoring the program, your payment for this program will allow Sandra to further cover the costs of getting the book published and printed.
